Double Major Undergraduate Summer Internship Class

1.    Course Registration

Student Resources opens the PROJ 300- PROJ 302 and PROJ 303 courses for registration on the  Information System / Students and makes registration announcements to students. Students register to the internship courses of their majors for the summer semester using the Information System / Students during the course registration and add-drop period for the spring semester.

The summer internship requirements of students registered to a Double Major Program may be fulfilled with a single internship course provided that the course is designed as an amalgamation of the requirements for each of the Major Program and Double Major Program internships.

National holidays are not included within the internship duration.

Internship should start after the final exams as announced in the academic calender and should be finish before the new academic term.

 2. Internship Application and Result Assessment

Students registered in a Double Major Program contact possible internship institutions within and outside Turkey to submit their applications.

Students registered in a Double Major Program and accepted by an internship institution will submit a "New Internship Project Form" on the PROJ 304 Double Major Management System which will describe a common project that includes the requirements for both the Major and Double Major programs. The project description will be automatically emailed to both Internship Advisors who will assess and approve the internship.

Internship Advisors approve or reject the project based on the submission. The result is automatically emailed to the student's account.
Students may begin their internships when both advisors submit their approval. In case the project is rejected, the student is required to find another project, complete a new Project Form and seek approval from Internship Advisors.

If required by the internship institution, the Internship Office will issue a Compulsory Internship Document to the student for submission to the internship institution.

The University pays for the Work Accident and Occupational Disease insurance of students during their compulsory internships within Turkey. Students doing internships in turkey must submit the name of the internship institution and internship beginning and end dates to the Internship Office one week prior to the beginning of their internships at the latest for completing a Social Security Employment Form.
